This is my wrinkle in time node. It was shot on top of RattleSnake point, an ismuth of land jutting into lake Kalamalka, in the Okanagan Region of British Columbia, Canada, near Vernon. (That's the town you can see in the distance).
It was a nice place, on a sunny day, in an agricultural part of the province where they make wine, and grow apples, and swim in lakes...in a weird winter without much snow...
and some people came up the path and I told them that all over the world, other people were shooting nodes at this same exact time and that they were in my shot, or they had to stand still...and I said that I felt a little insecure, what with nodes going up from London and Paris, New York and Hollywood...and the hiking lady said "I've been to all those places, and I like it here..." and I looked at her and said..."come to think of it, me too..." (although I'm a coastal boy, visiting the interior) " and then we all left, cause it was chilly enough that you had to keep moving....Canada, after all. On Dec 21.
You can see my shadow because I'm a long way from that equator on the shortest day of the year, and the sun just doesn't get very high up in the sky! (Well, actually it's only the 49th or 50th parallel. As far north as Paris and London, in Europe, think... )
It's not a great node. I did a better one, but that was two hours earlier in flat light and that'd be cheating. It was a borrowed camera and a homemade tripod, and it took a lot of photoshopping to get the part shooting into the sun to blend even as well as it does...
